I've been back from Europe just over a week now, had the raddest time ever and now being home is really dull, mainly because I have no money.
I have however been keeping myself entertained by looking through my photos from the trip, browsing blogs and art/design websites and listening to lots of new music.
Rebel Eight, it's a clothing brand out of San Francisco with heavy ties in graffiti , skateboarding and tattoo art. The two main dudes behind it run a combined company blog and there's always some interesting stuff on there, or at least I think so.
Ffffound, as ever, is the perfect site to waste a few hours on, especially when you come across gnarly Neckface art like this. So tight!
I'm leaving for Paris in 2 days! My long awaited inter-rail trip is almost here, at last. If I can I'll post anything noteworthy on here, but otherwise it'll probably just be on facebook.
In other news, Foals' new album was released today and I got my copy of the Deluxe Edition in the post! I downloaded it last week however so it's already had a fair few (dozen) repeats since. To top it off I'm going to see them the night before we leave, killerrrrrrrr!
There's just so many good videos on youtube, what a glorious website.
Bangs is holding it down for Sudan!
Caribou, a pretty rad band I've got into of late.
Palace Skateboards. I'm pretty hyped on this little trailer, despite not a great deal actually going on. Regardless, the whole vibe of the company is cool and the team is killer.
Departure for Europe is imminent, I cannot wait to leave this country for a bit! Hype Hype.
Has it ever occurred to anyone else that apparently all people that skate and are named Jake are really good? Off the top of my head I can think of at least these few dudes;
Jake Donnelly
Jake Duncombe
Jake Johnson
Jake Rupp
And, though he doesn't have a board sponsor or video parts, this guy gets an honorary mention for generally killing it, mainly for being at the helm of Thrasher Magazine and wearing glasses pretty well;
Jake Phelps
I guess this theory could apply to a bunch of names but I happened to be watching a Jake Donnelly part at the time.
Here's a good film I watched recently, the premise is a socially inept Londoner with no job and a massive VHS action film collection who also happens to murder people that upset him... It's pretty rad.
On a completely unrelated tip, I've been enjoying this website recently, it's an interesting collection of photos for sure.
The time has nearly come for me to depart for Europe, super excited!
Here's a pleasant picture of another cinematic sociopath that I'm a fan of;
